Music during the ceremony
Music plays a very important role in my ceremonies. By now, you already know that I spent many years working as a wedding singer before I began accompanying weddings as a wedding celebrant. For me, music is one of the most powerful carriers of emotion. Especially live music has a unique way of creating atmosphere and making your special day even more emotional and memorable.
Live music also allows me to respond intuitively to each moment and adjust the length of a song to the situation. For example, when the bride walks in and everyone has taken their seats, it often feels right to gently bring the song to an end so the ceremony can begin smoothly. This is why I love being accompanied by my guitarist Hernán Filippini.
As a general guideline, I usually sing five songs during the ceremony:
– One for the entrance
– One after the welcome
– One following the main ceremony speech
– One after the ring exchange or first kiss
– One for the exit
Most often, only the bride makes a ceremonial entrance, perhaps accompanied by a family member such as her father or a close friend. However, there is always room for flexibility. If the groom would also like a formal entrance, this can of course be accompanied by a separate song. I am always open to your ideas, as it is important to me that your wishes and vision are fully reflected in your ceremony.
You may also wish to include a special ritual in your ceremony, such as a time capsule, a sand ceremony or the signing of a symbolic marriage certificate. These moments are beautifully supported by instrumental music, which Hernán and I carefully plan and time to fit the ritual perfectly.
As you can see, music plays a central role in my ceremonies. It creates a beautiful emotional framework and helps structure the different parts of your wedding ceremony. The songs also give you and your guests moments to pause, breathe, reflect and truly enjoy what is happening.
